Cottage Hill Church is an Elder-led Church. The Elders, or Pastors, oversee the ministries and carry out the preaching/teaching in the Church services. Those titles, Elder and Pastor, are interchangeable in the New Testament. Elders are Pastors, and Pastors are Elders without distinction. Our current Pastoral Team consists of Jeff Chandler and Ted Scibelli.
Jeff Chandler is a native of Manchester, NH. He grew up in a family of four boys and attended the local Congregational Church. As a preteen, Jeff’s life drastically changed when his father abandoned the family. A new teaching position landed his mother in a school where two committed Christians began sharing God’s love and faithfulness with her. The ongoing exposure to these women and their bible-teaching church led Jeff to commit his life to Christ.
While at Moody Bible Institute, Jeff sensed God’s call on his life to pastoral ministry. He graduated from Moody and then from Dallas Theological Seminary.
In between those Moody and Dallas years, Jeff married Cindy. They met in the Young Adults Fellowship in their home church in Manchester.
After the Dallas years, Jeff and Cindy felt God’s leading them back to New England to serve. He pastored the First Baptist Church in North Berwick, Maine for eleven years before coming to the Springfield in 1996.
Jeff and Cindy have three grown children: Joy, Joel and Joshua.

Ted Scibelli is a Springfield native and grew up attending the Catholic Church. He committed his life to Christ in 1976 while listening to Christian radio and reading Christian literature.
Ted attended bible college classes taught at the Church through adjunct and staff teachers. He graduated from the bible college program in 1982. He served as a deacon and in several ministries in the church in the following years.
In 1982-83, Ted took two missions trips to Hong Kong and China. From 1986 – 1989, he and his wife, Susan, lived in Hong Kong with four other families. They helped plant a local church in Hong Kong and ministered in China by teaching English in Canton. While there, they were involved in a bible courier ministry.
Ted and Susan have two grown children and two grandchildren.
