What we believe

on .

We believe that Jesus died on the cross as the only, full, and total payment for sin that God will accept. Only those who confess their need for forgiveness and accept the gift of forgiveness offered through the cross are genuinely saved from God’s judgment. Read about it in Hebrews 9:22, Romans 5:1 and John 3:16.

The Holy Spirit
We believe that He glorifies Jesus Christ and works to convict people of sin so they will turn to God to be saved. From that point the Holy Spirit gives eternal life, fills, indwells, guides, teaches, and empowers the saved to live for, and serve, God. Read about it in John 15:36, 16:14-17.

We believe that man was created and that he was created in God’s image. Because of Adam’s sin, all humanity is spiritually dead and separated from God. Only through the life-giving ministry of the Holy Spirit can a person become spiritually alive. Read about it in Genesis 1: Romans 3:3; John 3:3.

The local Church
We believe that each local church is composed of saved persons, is autonomous, and is led by a plurality of men to whom the church gives authority to lead. The mission of the Church is to reach out locally and internationally with the good news of Jesus Christ and then disciple believers to personal and corporate growth so that they, too, participate in the mission.  Read about it in Acts 2:47, Ephesians 4:1-6, Colossians 1:18, 1 Timothy 5:17, and Matthew 28:18-20.

Communion and Baptism
We believe that communion and baptism are lasting ordinances for churches, but that they do not convey any special grace. The Bible teaches that those who have accepted salvation through Christ are to be baptized as a public evidence of that faith. We believe that Jesus instituted communion as a memorial, founded on His words: “Do this in remembrance of Me.” Read about it in Matthew 28:19-20 and 1 Corinthians 11:23.

We believe that marriage today is still what it was first created to be in the Garden of Eden: a covenant relationship between a man and a woman. Read about it in Genesis 2:24, Romans 7:2, and Ephesians 5:22-23.
